History about Touchstones!

you can learn about the past, like Victorians.

The history of the Town hall.

Rochdale town hall is a Victorian building.

It opened on the 31st of March in 1866.

It is known as ‘one of the finest municipal buildings in this country.’

The height is 58 metres tall.

It was rumoured that Adolf Hitler wanted it.

St. Chads Church*St Chad’s is the mother church of the Parish of Rochdale.

*It is a ancient and gothic building with a square tower.

*The oldest part was built in 1100.

*There are 124 steps!

Broadfield Park!

Alderman George Leach Ashworth was the first Rochdalian to receive such an honour.

He was the driving force behind the building of Rochdale Town Hall.

This statue was erected in 1877.

Broadfield Park is the oldest park in the borough.

The new Tram Station! The new tram station is

a way of transport. Lots of people travel on

it to different places such as:
