Meaning of Research

Research is an organized and systematic study of material and source in order to discover new things and establish facts and reach new conclusion. Research provides us right kind of information that help us in successful dealing with problem.

Purpose of Research

To Explore:- Domestic company may things of setting up its manufacturing operations abroad. This kind of investment is new to the company and initial research conducted to explore the possibility of this new idea can be termed as exploratory research.

To Describe:- These studies are about events that have already taken place. These studies are also called expert fact of study.

To Diagnose:- When a study is carried out how frequently a particular event is associated with another event it is termed as diagnostic study.

Objective of Research

To gain familiarity with a phenomenon or to archievenew insights into it.

To portray accurately the characteristics of a particular individual, situation or a group.

To determine the frequency with which something occurs or with which it is associated with something else.

To test a hypothesis of a casual relationship between variables.

Feature Of A Good Research Design

The means of obtaining information

The availability and skills of the researcher and his staff , if any;

The objective of the problem to be studied;

The availability of time and money for the research work.

Operational Design

Features of a Research Design

It is a plan that specifies the sources and types of information relevant to the research.

It is a strategy specifying which approach will be used for gathering and analysing the data.

It also includes the time and cost budgets since most studies are done under these two constraints.

Important Experimental Designs

Informal Experimental Design

-Before and After without control design

-After only with control design

-Before and After with control Design

• Formal Experimental Design

-Completely randomized design

-Randomized block design

-Latin square design

-factorial designs
