Reducing Administrative Follow-up
Top 2 issues causing administrative follow-up1. Incorrectly filled out score cards2. Disputes over “no-shows” and rescheduling of games
Recommended Club action 1. Teach your coaches how to fill out a score card
2. Review Game Day Check with all Coaches (and give them a copy for inclusion with other game equipment)http://www.eastcentralsoccer.org/Info/PDF/6-08%20Game%20Day%20Checklist.pdf
3. Review the Dispute Resolution Form (for issues with scores, posted scores, forfeits, rescheduling or anything else)http://www.eastcentralsoccer.org/Info/PDF/Game%20Change%20and%20Dispute%20Resolution%20Request.pdf
No action will be taken unless a dispute resolution form is completed
Start with “Info” on the Home Page
More stuff than you’ll
ever read on Info page
Include “Game Number” on all communicatio
n
Filling out a Score Card
ReschedulingFour Principles1. Avoid it if you can2. Communicate with the other team!
i. Be Adultii. “I left a message” or “I e-mailed them” is not
communication iii. Focus on letting the kids play (vs. “winning” the forfeit
argument)3. Communicate with your Club/Other Club
i. Presidentii. Referee Assignoriii. Field Commissioner/Assignor
4. Utilize the “Game Change and Dispute Resolution Form”
ReschedulingOfficial EC Rules
Unofficial Rules1. Use Common Sense --- work things out with the other
Coach/Club
2. Focus on getting the kids a chance to play
Rescheduling Games Clubs/teams may attempt to reschedule games ONLY for the following reasons:1. Game postponed due to inclement weather2. Field deemed unplayable by the field marshal, referee or owner3. Games conflicting with a ‘state league’ commitment4. Games that conflict with tournaments5. Games that conflict with school events
Games should not be rescheduled due to a few players missing. In the event a game has to be rescheduled, the new date should be determined at least seven days before the originally scheduled game date (to allow the referees and field schedulers advanced warning). The rescheduled date must be during the EC League season. Fill out East Central Dispute Resolution form to create a paper trail for rescheduled games. Communication between clubs is vital.
All re-scheduled games must be approved by the home club field scheduler and referee scheduler. If either scheduler is unable to reschedule then the game will be declared a ‘no contest’.
Focus on communications for Game Changes
Always utilize Game Number in any Communications
Rescheduling Endorsements
Common Issue ---- don’t forget about the folks who schedule the Ref’s & Fields
