REHOBETH MEC WAS FORMED IN 1789. LAND WAS PURCHASED FOR A PENNY ON AUGUST 14, 1809. WHERE FIRST A SCHOOL-MEETING HOUSE WAS BUILT, THEN A CHURCH WAS BUILT 1814. A GROWING CONGREGATION REPLACED THE ORIGINAL BUILDING WITH A LARGER CHURCH IN DEC 1892. THE SCHOOL HOUSE WAS BURNED DURING THE CIVIL WAR.

SUNDAY CLASS MEETINGS -- SOUL STUDY

• Sunday Class meetings began as Kathryn Work led worship services

• Classes continued with the study of Marjorie Thompson’s Soul Feast when Shelly Ballard

(January to June) led worship services

• “Soul” work continued until the end of September and Rev. Michelle Kim became the

pastor

• Jim has been the consistent Class facilitator until winter, when Julie Cornelius facilitates

the class

SUNDAY CLASS MEETINGS

Small Groups are excellent ways to learn by sharing and

enjoying the dialogue of meaningful study related to

today’s life styles.

SUNDAY CLASS MEETING

• Study of Soul Feast comes to a close – though the work

continues to grow deeper to find our way higher

• A new study begins on “The Story.” This is a chronological

study of the development of the Bible.

We began with open discussions

Then moved to a study of Soul Feast

Now beginning a Study of the chronology of the Bible

SUNDAY CLASS MEETINGS

• Fall of 2017 – Soul Feast study began after several months of

class meetings following Sunday Worship

• Class Meetings used Soul Feast as a Guide as the Class

explored “soul.”

SUNDAY CLASS MEETINGS

• 2018 – Soul Feast study continued

• Class Meeting attendance averaged 7

• Presently the Sunday Class Meeting is introducing a lengthly

study using “The Story” as a Guide to overview the creation of

the Bible.

- Lifelong learning, influencing, and serving as Christ’s

disciples

• Spiritually the church’s remnant core of members

has regrouped, assumed double assignments, and

has entered a process of

• Mending, regrouping, repairing, replacing,

restructuring, and renovating – inside and out.

MOST EVIDENT IS REPARING OUR ENTRY

- “serving and building disciples”

- Begins with strengthening inner (spiritual) and outer

(physical) structures.

- Examining what’s there and making necessary changes.

Beginning on the ground floor, “the ground of our being”

both in tradition and in the present
