INTRODUCTION

TENTATIVES PROGRAMME

One Day Workshop on X-ray Di�raction is being

organised to provide an exposure and knowledge on

X-ray di�raction (XRD) in various research works. This

workshop will highlight on the principles of XRD and

di�ractometer, application of this technique as well as

on the phase identi�cation of di�erent materials.

The sessions will be delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lim

Kean Pah from Department of Physics, Faculty of

Science, Universiti Putra Malaysia. It is hoped that this

workshop may help in expanding and strengthening

the knowledge of researchers on XRD analysis.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lim Kean Pah received his doctorate

degree in Physics (Materials Science) from Universiti

Putra Malaysia in 2002. His area of specialization is in

magnetic materials and superconductors. He has been

actively involved in structural analysis using XRD and

conducting undergraduate courses related to this

technique since 2004.
