teaching tools – a fashion;

• Issues of availability and accessibility of basic

resources & OC;

• Teachers…need updated knowledge - PDO; &

• Reforms in Teacher Education–RTE

Research methodology

• Qualitative case study (use of mobile

technologies in research)

– Skype (a technology in your pocket) Interviews;

– Unit of study - a newly established public sector

university in Pakistan;

– Sample-Purposefully selected 2 teachers engaged

with teaching ICT in education & computer literacy;

Findings of the Study

Recommendations• Universities –

– Ensure facilitation at all levels;

– ensure effective use of time and resources;

– Link b/w Input & output - arranging training linking to course

learning outcomes

– Effective monitoring and evaluation of TLPs

• Policy maker –

– …should be based on resources / ground realities

– Ensure support to universities …

Implications

• Universities - … Eye opener -reflect on existing

practices in the region;

• Researchers – various technologies in research &

methodologies … like lived experiences of teachers

can present better picture about ASK;

• Studies focusing on Transformation in teachers

through reflections…&

• Policy makers – RTE - context specific & doable
