DescriptionA red fox is a mammal that lives on many continents. It has different colors of fur. It has red to gray colors of skin. It has a pointed snout. It has sharp curved claws on it’s feet. It’s tail is sometimes called a sweep. It has black lower legs and feet. It has a long bushy tail.

Habitat

Red fox lives in Asia. A red fox is also found in Europe, Australia , North America, and the far north of Africa. It lives in many different habitats. Some of the habitats are forests and desert.

DietA red fox is a meat eater or a carnivore. It eats small mammal is like mice, eggs birds, worms, insects, and frogs. It can eat reptiles and lizards, fish, grass, berries, and nuts. Most foxes hunt alone. The mother brings home special treats for her growing cubs. It is mostly a carnivore.

Survival

A red fox is in danger because of men. Some animals climb trees for safety but not a red fox . It has other tricks to help them escape other predators. It can live up to 13 years in captivity.

There are no animals quite like a red fox.
