About the REACH Program

REACH stands for… Recognizing Educational Aspirations and Career Horizons

REACH Advisors are current CMU students who volunteer and support Career Services with delivering its mission and outreach activities to their peers. REACH Advisors address the needs of their peers by providing strategies and tools to educate and enhance use of resources within the

campus community.   

Professional Development 101:  

Departments throughout Central Michigan University collaborate with Career Services and REACH Advisors to strengthen students’ depth of awareness and knowledge about the resources on campus to continuously support personal, academic, and professional development.

   REACH Advisors network with registered student organizations to facilitate, enhance, and encourage peers to increase awareness of the different options of career paths and how to build the necessary skills early on during the college years.

      

REACH Advisors provide the following peer services…  Walk-in advising located in Career Services Ronan 240

First-Year Experience classroom presentations

Facilitate workshops for various student groups and Registered

Student Organizations  

 Presentations topics include… 

Resume, c over letter, and reference c onstruc tion Interviewing tips and techniques Professional etiquette and dress Preparing for and dec iding on graduate school
