A Message for Rebellious Judah2 Listen, O heavens! Pay attention, earth!

This is what the LORD says:“The children I raised and cared for

have rebelled against me.

3 Even an ox knows its owner, and adonkey recognizes itsmaster’s care—but Israel doesn’t know its master. Mypeople don’t recognize my care forthem.

There was a man who had two sons. Theyounger one said to his father, 'Father,give me my share of the estate.' So hedivided his property between them. "Notlong after that, the younger son gottogether all he had, set off for adistant country.

13 “A few days later this younger sonpacked all his belongings and moved toa distant land, and there he wasted allhis money in wild living.14 About the time his money ran out, agreat famine swept over the land, and hebegan to starve.

15 He persuaded a local farmer to hirehim, and the man sent him into his fieldsto feed the pigs.16 The young man became so hungry thateven the pods he was feeding the pigslooked good to him. But no one gave himanything.

we have not stopped praying for youand asking God to fill you…And we pray this in order that you maylive a life worthy of the Lord and mayplease him in every way

Pray they will have the right friends.10 My child, if sinners entice you,

turn your back on them!11 They may say, “Come and join us.Let’s hide and kill someone!Just for fun, let’s ambush the

innocent!

12 Let’s swallow them alive, like thegrave[a]; let’s swallow them whole, likethose who go down to the pit of death.13 Think of the great things we’ll get!We’ll fill our houses with all the stuffwe take.

14 Come, throw in your lot with us;we’ll all share the loot.”

15 My child, don’t go along with them!Stay far away from their paths.

Pray they will get caught when guilty.

It was good for me to be afflictedso that I might learn your decrees.

Let us not become weary in doing good,for at the proper time we will reap aharvest if we do not give up.

But while he was still a long way off,his father saw hiM

his father saw him and was filled withcompassion for him; he ran to his son,threw his arms around him and kissedhim.

But the LORD still waits for you to cometo him so he can show you his love andcompassion. For the LORD is a faithfulGod…
