What do you expect to see on the front cover of an indie music magazine?

From this bar chart, we can see that bands/ artist are the most popular items to see on the front cover of a music magazine. This helps for my magazine design as I can include this information onto mine. However, we can see that individual bands or artists are the least popular, and the participants seem to vote generically.

What type of font would be the best to use for the indie music magazine?

Here, we can see that there is a numerous amount of fonts chosen by the participants, however out of all of them, the bold font is the most popular. On many indie magazines, their font is usually in bold so this suits the genre of magazine.

From this method of demonstration, we can clearly see that Indie is the most popular word to associate with indie music. After that, other popular words are ‘unique’ ‘loud’ and ‘individual’.

How much do you pay for your music magazine?

From our results illustrated here, we can identify that the majority of the participants usually pay under £5 for their magazines, however, there is a select few of eight that do pay that little bit more.

What do you expect to see when you open up the magazine?

By presenting my answers in a scatter graph, I can clearly see that most of the participants like to see band images when they open up the magazine. These images are usually located on the contents page anyway, so this helps with further research for my magazine ideas.

Lastly, we can identify that out of the nine answers given by the participants, the Arctic Monkeys were the most popular answer for the most popular indie band/artist. In my opinion, I believe that the Arctic Monkeys are the most popular at the minute and many indie magazines have done many stories with them as well as have them on their front cover
