¿Qué estamos haciendo?What are we doing?

Estamos mirando la tele.We are watching t.v.

Estoy comiendo helado.I’m eating icecream.

Answer with the verb ‘comer’ (to eat)

La señorita está …

Ella está comiendo. She is eating.

La señorita está comiendo.The young lady is eating.

Answer with the verb ‘nadar’ (to swim)

El pez está ________ en el mar.

Está nadando en el mar.It is swimming in the sea.

El pez está nadando en el mar.The fish is swimming in the sea.

¿Qué están haciendo las chicas?What are the girls doing?

Use the phrase ‘hacer compras’ (to do shopping) to form your answer.

Están haciendo compras.They are shopping.

Las chicas están haciendo compras.The girls are shopping.

¿Qué está haciendo?What is she doing?

Ella está visitando a una amiga.She is visiting a friend.

Well done, now you know how to use present participles with the verb ‘estar’ to make the

present progressive tense!
