‣ In the installer choose Desktop Express Install and select QGIS to install Quantum GIS.

‣ The OSGeo4W repository contains a lot of software from OSGeo projects. QGIS and all dependencies are included, along with Python, GRASS, GDAL, etc.

‣ Before installing QGIS 1.8.0, install GDAL Complete 1.9 framework package and GSL framework in advance.

‣ If you don’t use OS 10.6 or later, check older QGIS version as follows.

• Red Hat series# yum install qgis

For Linux users

Launch Terminal

and command as follows.

After ins ta l l ing QGIS ,check that QGIS are wor k ing .

• Start QGIS and a window will open as follows.
