Where did you grow up? I grew up inDecatur on Park & Magnolia Street andgraduated from Decatur High School. Myhistory runs deep in Decatur, with sevengenerations of my family having livedright here in the River City. It’s importantto support your community which is why Iserve as President of the Princess Board, support the Carnegie as its current King,a member of the Rotary and have servedon various boards at the local, state, andnational level to support our city.

What do you enjoy doing when you’renot working? The real estate businessis 24/7, but I always make sure to maketime for my family – especially my twowonderful grandsons, Cole and Cannon.Whether it’s simply them staying the nightwith me or out in the woods at my farm, the joy that those two boys bring to mylife is priceless.

How long have you worked in RealEstate? I’ve wanted to sell real estatesince I was 10 years old, and my dreamcame true! I have been blessed withan amazing career in real estate andI’m currently on my 41st year in thebusiness! When I achieved 40 years inthe business I was recognized by theNational Association of REALTORS asREALTOR® Emeritus!

What is the most challenging/gratifying aspect of what you do?After 41 years in the business, I’veseen and experienced a lot! But what ismost fascinating is that the real estatebusiness never stays the same. Everyday is different. Every transaction isdifferent. You learn something new in thisbusiness every day. The most gratifyingaspect of my business is MarMac RealEstate’s contribution to the communitieswe serve. In 2009, MarMac Charitieswas formed, which enabled us to donatea portion of each transaction in order tosupport local charities. To date, we havedonated more than $200,000 to localcharities through our donations, golftournaments, and other fundraisers.

What are the top 3 things thatseparate you from your competition? In 2007 I opened MarMac Real Estateand since the doors opened we havesold more than $1 billion in real estate- and what an amazing ride its been sofar! What started with just a few agentsand one office has grown to more than100 agents and 6 offices throughoutNorth Alabama and is locally ownedand operated with over $250 million insales in 2020. I believe that our entire

company of agents deliver efficient, knowledgeable, and caring service toall our customers. We strive to exceedexpectations throughout the entireprocess of selling or buying and evenafter the closing.

What is one tip you have for someonelooking to buy or sell a home? Actfast! It’s a seller’s market – so if you’reconsidering making a move, now is thetime! Inventory is critically low! If you’relooking to buy, you must act fast! Housesare selling almost immediately when theygo on the market. There’s no time to takedays to think about it. If it’s the house foryou, you have to act fast and make yourhighest and best offer quickly – which iswhy we have the best trained agents tohelp our customers achieve their dreamsand goals.
