Last October, I had the opportunity to travel to Dallas for the 2009 SACNAS Conference

SACNAS - Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in the Sciences

I received a full travel scholarship! The 2010 Conference will be in Anaheim and the

application travel scholarships is available now at www.sacnas.org

For 5 days, I was surrounded by students and professionals who were all dedicated to increasing diversity in the sciences and sharing their experiences with each other. Nearly 3,000 people attended.

As a scholarship recipient, I had the opportunity to take a trip to the University of North Texas Health Science Center.

Outbreak at Watersedge was created at the University of Minnesota to help teach people about what public health is.

It’s a one-player game where you are responsible for investigating a disease outbreak.
