CONGRESSMAN EVANS IS MAKING IDEAS MATTER FOR PHILADELPHIA AND MONTGOMERY COUNTY RESIDENTS
▶ Pushing Back on The President’s Agenda | Introduced the No Federal Funding for Confederate Symbols Act to prohibit Federal funds from going towards Confederate symbols on Federal public lands. Additionally, introduced the No Conflict of Interest Presidency Act of 2017, which would require money from the Trump Organization’s businesses be converted into treasury bills and mutual funds.
▶ Protecting the Affordable Care Act | Visited numerous medical facilities during healthcare tours of the 2nd District including, Lankenau, Temple, Einstein, and federally qualified health centers. Spoke with medical professionals and patients to listen to their views and thoughts on our current healthcare system as we work to protect quality, reliable healthcare for all.
▶ Helping our Working Families | Secured $39,586.66 in refunds and cost savings from IRS and OPM/Retirement for hard-working families in PA-02.

▶ Fighting for our Seniors, our Retirees, and our Disabled | Secured $91,161.50 in cost savings from Social Security for seniors, retirees and the disabled in Philadelphia and Montgomery County.
▶ Strengthening Middle Neighborhoods | Brought West Oak Lane neighborhood development model to Washington with the goals of strengthening the commercial and business corridors in our city and suburbs, modernizing our school buildings for our children, and investing in job training and development programs to grow our workforce in order to build healthier middle neighborhoods.
▶ Strengthening Pennsylvania Schools | Introduced the Rehabilitation of Historic Schools Act of 2017, to give our public schools the chance to qualify for the rehabilitation tax credit in order to restore the majority of our school buildings which have not been updated in decades.
Speaking with members of Greater Philadelphia Health Action, Inc. in South Philadelphia about what I’m working on in Congress to make our healthcare system work for everyone.
Talking about the legislative process and how our laws are made, during a visit with driven, hard-working students at Strawberry Mansion Learning Center in North Philadelphia.
▶ Advocating for Common-Sense Gun Reform | Hand-delivered a letter to Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro urging him to explore all avenues possible to keep our neighborhoods safe.
▶ Defending the EPA | Sent a letter to Scott Pruitt asserting the next generation needs the peace of mind that they will have clean air to breathe and clean water to drink.
▶ Supporting our Veterans | Secured $122,135.00 in cost savings for the brave men and women who have served in our armed forces.
▶ Expanding Access to Capital | Pushed for more resources for our small business owners and entrepreneurs who are the true engines that drive investment to our neighborhoods.
▶ Working for You | Hosted a National Service Opportunity Fair, which was attended by more than 100 young adults and more than 10 national service and security organizations, to teach young people in our neighborhoods more about the benefits of a career in American public service.
▶ Making our Neighborhoods More Food Secure | Used my role on House Agriculture Committee to bring a different kind of leadership, perspective and tone to the issues that impact our food and farm economy. Learned from and listened to farmers, suppliers, buyers, consumers and many more to ensure the views and opinions of PA-02 constituents are given a voice in the 2018 Farm Bill.
Visiting Ricklin’s Hardware during Small Business Week on Haverford Avenue in Narberth to talk about what tools and resources our small businesses need to be successful.
Talking with city and community leaders about ways Congress can honor and pay tribute to influential role models in our neighborhoods at unveiling of the state historical marker for Rev. Leon Sullivan at the Zion Baptist Church in North Philadelphia.
