Windows
Installing window locks can be a cheap alternative. Government
statistics show that windows are often the weak spot of home security,
accounting for 39 per cent of entry points in home robberies.
Don´t make it obvious you´re away
If you´re heading away for the holidays, leave a few lights on or install
sensor lights around entrance ways as light acts as a deterrent to
thieves. If possible, time these outside lights to switch on automatically
at night.
Mail collection
Arrange for a friend or neighbour to collect your mail. It´s also a good
idea to have a ´no junk mail´ sign to avoid piles of catalogues building
up.
Update home contents cover
If you are expecting Santa to deliver a generous stash of goodies this
Christmas, make sure you upgrade your home contents insurance to
reflect the value of any expensive items.
Keeping your property safe over Christmas.
AS A PRIME TIME FOR THIEVES, THE FESTIVE SEASON CALLS FOR
ADDITIONAL HOME SECURITY MEASURES, AND THE GOOD NEWS IS
THAT KEEPING YOUR HOME SAFE FROM INTRUDERS NEEDN´T COST
A SLEIGH-LOAD OF CASH.
MINIMISE THE RISK OF BREAK-AND-ENTER BY TAKING A FEW SIMPLE
PRECAUTIONS.

A secure home is desirable to tenants.
Install keyed window locks to all accessible windows & install patio bolts to sliding doors.
These small steps not only will secure your property they will make the home more desirable to tenants who are security conscious.

Fundraising for a worthy cause...
Peter Blackshaw Real Estate was again
proud to be the major sponsors of the
Santa Fun Run event that saw Santa´s
flock in Canberra running, walking,
skipping and dancing around Lake
Burley Griffin on 7 December 2014.
This is the second time this event was
held in Canberra due to its
outstanding success in 2013!
The Variety Santa Fun Run took place
around our beautiful city on a Sunday
morning, with many of our staff
wearing Santa suits and raising monies
in teams or as individuals, for this very
worthy cause.
