Proficiency Awards

What is the Proficiency Award Program about? (HO1)

Proficiency: Demonstrated competence in a specific area

Proficiency Award: A recognition of excellence in the area of occupational or scientific proficiency

Incentive: FFA provides the awards to motivate the student through recognition of accomplishment

Eligibility

Current, active FFA member Applicant may have been out of high

school no more than one year If graduated, applicant must have

completed 3 or more years of ag ed, or all the ag at the last school attended

Have maintained records adequate to substantiate the application

Types of Proficiency Awards

Entrepreneurship– Personal Ownership– Complete records– Completed at home, at school, or in

community Placement

– Normally paid employment– Complete records– Agricultural work setting
