Hello! We are the NRCO. We act as the National Reintegration Program Manager.

We provide the implementers of the OFW Reintegration Program with research and development services, policies, strategic directions, coordinative supervision, and program monitoring and evaluation services

The National Reintegration Center for OFWs (NRCO), an agency of the Department of Labor and Employment was institutionalized pursuant to Republic Act 10022 and its Implementing Rules and Regulations.

For purposes of policy and program coordination, the NRCO shall be an attached office of the OWWA. It shall be headed by an Executive Director who shall be under the supervision of the OWWA Administrator.

The NRCO, in partnership with the Integrated Seafarers of the Philippines (ISP), is pleased to announce the 5th conduct of a business plan competition for seafarers and their families.

Competition Objective To provide potential seafarers and their

families intending to set-up their own business the help they may need to develop viable business plans and ideas and turn them into business solutions to real social problems in their hometown or community.

Who may join?

• Active seafarers (overseas) preferably those who are planning to retire from sea life and interested to venture into entrepreneurship.

• Inactive seafarers (overseas) who have been in the Philippines for not more than five (5) years and interested to venture into entrepreneurship.

Who may join? Solo – participant must be the direct seafarer

By pairs – participants are the direct seafarer and his immediate family member. Immediate family members include, but not limited to, legal spouse, children, parents, and siblings.

By groups – limited to 3 - 5 members (direct seafarer and their partners)

who are currently on duty and is unable to attend presentation and coordination activities related to the Competition, including attendance to screening and mentoring/coaching activities, must have at least one (1) official representative, (must be an immediate family member) who will handle all the tasks and activities required in the Competition.

For the seafarers in the pair and group category…

Open to start-up business plan only.

Winners will be chosen during an awarding ceremony in November 2019.

Open to all types of business, except Franchising.

Competition Process

Competition judges will select ten (10) participants who will advance to the next round (Mentoring Round).

Competition Process

In the event that there would be anyone from such list who would like to withdraw his/her entry, entries ranked 11 to 15 shall be considered to complete the ten (10) finalists.

The Top 10 official shortlisted entries will be announced in September 2019, via NRCO and ISP Facebook Page and official websites.

The 10 finalists will be given the opportunity to enhance and strengthen their business plans through series of mentoring/coaching sessions to be held in October 2019.

3) Mentoring Round

Participants will present their business plans to a panel of judges to be selected by NRCO and ISP. Each will be given maximum of 20 minutes: 10 minutes for the presentation, and 10 minutes for the Q&A portion.
