Cement is mixture of calcareous ,

silicious, argellacious and other

substances. Cement is used as binding

material in mortar , concrete etc..

Mortar is a workable paste used to bind building

blocks such as stones, bricks, and

concrete masonry units together, fill and seal the

irregular gaps between them, and sometimes add

decorative colors or patterns in masonry walls.

OPCWHITE CEMENTMASANORY CEMENTOIL WELL CEMENTHIGH ALUMINA CEMENTPORTLAND POZZOLANA CEMENT(PPC)

It is a normal type cement

which is used for construction

is done by OPC.

Opc has grey color, but white cement has pure white

color.

Strength of white cement lower than opc.

White cement is used for filling gaps between tiles, and

for decoration.

Price of white cement higher than opc.

It is also called snowcrete.

This cement is used to make joints in the brick work, block work and stone work.

This cement can resist very high temperature and high

pressure.

It is used in oil well to seal leakages.

Opc cement approximately 63% lime and 6% alumina.

High alumina cement has 40% lime and 40% alumina.

This cement can resist high temperature .

It is used for internal linings of furnaces and kiln.

It is also used for construction of dams and heavy

structures.

Volcanic ash containing silicates of calcium, iron and aluminum when mixed with lime and heated produces this cement.

Its grey in color like OPC.

PPC is used in heavy load infrastructure and constructions such as marine structures, hydraulic structures, mass concreting works, plastering, masonry mortars, and all applications of ordinary Portland cement.

ADVANTAGES:

Very Strong

Can create large structures quickly

Conforms to different shapes (arcs and circles, etc).

DISADVANTAGES:

Very heavy

Expensive compared to other alternatives
