PLURALI - with NOUNS
PAY ATTENTION TO THE ENDING OF THE NOUN!
“O” ---> “I” ex) il quaderno -> i quaderni
“A” ---> “E” ex) la matita -> le matite
“E” ---> “I” ex) la classe -> le classi
“co” “go” “ca” “ga” NOUNS
RULE: If a noun ends in -co, -go, -ca, -ga, add the letter “h” before the plural ending.
EX) il banco -> i banchi
EX) il lago -> i laghi
EX) l’amica -> le amiche
Another “rule”...
Sometimes when you have the two vowels “i” and “o” right next to each other all you need to do is drop the “o” to make it plural!
EX) l’esempio -> gli esempi
EX) il figlio -> i figli
What about the definite articles?
They change from singular to plural:
il -> i
lo -> gli
la -> le
l’ -> le(f) OR gli(m)
