Plural of nouns
• Just like in English, nouns in Spanish can be either singular or plural:
the book the books
the quiz the quizzes
• In English you add –s or -es to form the plural of a noun.
To form the plural in Spanish...
• Nouns ending in a vowel (a, e, i, o, u) add –s.
SINGULAR PLURAL
el libro los libros
el día los días
la computadora las computadoras
To form the plural in Spanish...
• Nouns ending in a consonant add -es
SINGULAR PLURAL
la televisión las televisiones
la universidad las universidades
la actividad las actividades
To form the plural in Spanish...
• For nouns ending in –z: z c
