Jesus Christ is considered a martyr because he chose to die rather than renounce his faith.

The cat was feral. He used to be domesticated but now he is wild.

She was sure she was a social pariah because she had no friends.

I was happy that the clouds seemed evanescent. I was sure they were likely to vanish.

He called it a peninsula because it was a long projection of land into water.

I said the boulder was immutable because it seemed rigid and unsusceptible.

The boy was melancholy. He felt gloominess because none of the kids liked him at school.

I consider Hilter nefarious because his crimes were evil and he is quite infamous.

The house was quite ostentatious. It was clear that it was there to impress someone.

The conflagration destroyed all my things, but that’s what you’d expect from a large disastrous fire.

The girl felt very despondent when she lost her friend. She couldn’t stop feeling extreme depression.

Mikey felt great apathy. He was bored because he had nothing to do.

A dirge was played at the funeral because they felt the sad song expressed their lament.

The girl was so grossed out when she found out circus geeks bite off the heads of live chickens.
