Sensorimotor birth-age 2

• Imaginarium Wooden Block Set - 75-Piece

• Manufacturer's Age: 2 - 4 years • $16.99• Toy building sets open up the mind's

appetite for interactive creative play by inspiring children of all ages. By encouraging artistic activities, as well as pretending, parents can assist in the fundamental positive growth of their children.

• Fisher-Price Bouncer - Rainforest• Birth - 12 months• $59.99• The Fisher-Price Rainforest Bouncer provides a

stimulating and engaging environment for your baby, one where all the wonders of the rainforest are within grasp. Rainforest sounds and songs can be heard for a soothing atmosphere. Continuous play can be activated so your baby will stay entertained and engaged, while bouncer vibrations comfort your baby for a relaxing setting once he or she is finished playing.

• I do believe this is an appropriate toy because it forces the child to think & use their hands.

• I believe this would be perfect for an infant in this particular stage where they begin to reach for objects.

• In my opinion, this toy shows to be inappropriate because it has no fundamental value. It isn't evident to me what's being taught or gained from buying this toy other than to keep their momentary attention. In this stage the child would be limited when playing with this by mental capabilities.

Preoperational ages 2-6

• Original Memory Game• 3 - 6 years • $9.99• All-time favorite recall game. Find

the most pairs of matching picture cards to win! Overall skill being memory enhancement.

• I definitely see this toy as appropriate because at this stage they begin to classify objects by one trait, (the picture on the card) . It’s fitting, children also learn sharing & taking turns when playing.

• I believe this toy is appropriate because it’s attention grasping with the knowledge it provides.

Preoperational ages 2-6

• I don’t this is a valuable toy for the child, the only benefit would be possibly exercise.

• Leapfrog Explorer Learning Game - Leap School Math

• 7 years and up• $25.99• Teaches early algebra: Children learn

about relationships between numbers (such as 5 + 1 = 3 + 3), and detect patterns in their world.

• This is a great early reading tool for the child.

• At this stage, the child begins to understand & perform operations such as the ones taught in this game.

• I don’t see this toy as being beneficial to the child in this stage, no educational purposes are displayed.

Formal ages12 through life

• Leapfrog LeapPad1 Explorer Learning Tablet

• 9- 12 years • $64.99• Features a broad curriculum, including

reading, mathematics, science, geography, art, music, language and culture, health and more

• This is an amazing toy for the child in this stage, in which they begin to think abstractly & gain deductive logic.

• Monopoly - Property Trading Board Game

• 12-14• $12.99• Intense money counting

skills , also speed thinking

• I think this game is very appropriate for this stage , it teaches life skills as well as working with others.

• This toy would be good for entertainment purposes, however I don’t believe it lacks developmental value.
