PhotosynthesisNearly all energy that fuels life comes from the SUN! The food that plants make supplies them with energy. It also supplies energy to anything that eats plants.

Photosynthesis is the

process where plants

capture the energy

from the sun and

change it into food.Chlorophyll are pigments found in plants that absorb

light energy. They are found in Chloroplasts!

The Process!Energy from light changes CO2 and H2O

into Glucose and Oxygen.

The chemical formula for glucose is C6H1206

Glucose is a simple

sugar. When it is stored

in organisms it is a

carbohydrate.

Cellular Respiration

Respiration (breathing) supplies the Oxygen (O2) for Cellular Respiration. It also removes the Carbon

Dioxide (CO2) which is waste.

This is where we get our energy to run, skip, play, cry, laugh, text, etc.

Cellular Respiration is a Chemical Process where glucose

(food) is broken down (apart) and Carbon Dioxide, Water, and

Energy are released.

Mitochondria in Eukaryotic Cells (Plants and Animals)
