Increasing the Weight

Junior Kyle Angell, changes the amount of weight on the bench press in weightlifting class in mid December. The weightlifting team practiced day after day to increase their physical and mental strength. “The class is great for working out and we get to work out with friends,” Kyle said.

Have to Stay Hydrated!

After a long day of pumping iron in weightlifting class, Junior Deshawn Howard hydrates himself by taking a large sip of water in mid December. Following an eighty minute workout, students left the class exhausted. “It’s important to stay hydrated during weightlifting because your body needs a healthy source to take in energy from,” Deshawn said.

Get ready to Lift

The exhausting day of lifting weights causes Joey Webb (left) Deshawn Howard (middle) and Clay Newton (right) to take time and rest for a second. Deshawn Howard prepared himself to back spot the students bench pressing. “Weightlifting is time consuming and sometimes a pain, but when you exercise with your friends and make progress on your bodies together, its a great experience,” Deshawn said.

That’s my ball!

The Frisco High School weightlifting boys take time away from pumping the iron with a fun game of soccer in the indoor in Mid December. The boys tend to be more relaxed on Friday’s knowing that it is a free day of soccer. “It’s a great class to build your physical strength,” Sebastian Olivares (blue jacket in back) said.

Strike a Pose

The Frisco High School 2B Dance Team practice their routine in the Dance Room in Mid December. The Dance Team learned their new routine to “Somebody That I Used to Know” by Gotye and dedicated a lot of time to perfecting it. “Dance class is definitely a fun class because you get to study a variety of different dances,” said Jenna Vallone (Middle left).

Don’t Give Up

Junior Kyle Angell back spots his teammate while maintaining full concentration in the Frisco High indoor. The weights on the bench press had just been increased to 45 pounds on each side. “Always make sure you keep an eye out for who’s benching and pep talk them,” said Kyle.

Add the Weights

Junior Antonio Cumplido carefully back spots his fellow classmate in the indoor field house weight room in Mid December. Extra weight had been added to the 45 pound bar itself which made the bar even harder to bench. “You’ve got to make sure that the person you are spotting can handle the weight,” said Antonio.

Just Do It

The indoor weightlifting team gets fired up when Sophomore Sebastian Olivares puts in work on the pull down machine. The amount of weight used changed and more was added to push to the highest limits. “Weightlifting is a great class to build your physical strength,” said Sebastian.

Pump the Iron

The Frisco High School Weightlifting team works and trains hard by lifting the heavy weights in the indoor fieldhouse. The many different weights helped the boys gain strength and stamina. “I love getting to work out in this class,” said Kyle (front).

Switching up the Weight

In the FHS indoor, freshman Clay Newton changes up the weights for his teammates to bench press. More weight was added to test the weightlifting classes limits. “I like how I’m able to come into the class with no prior weightlifting experiences and I can move at my own pace,” said Clay.

Water is Key

Junior Deshawn Howard (front) and Junior Kyle Angell (back) drink water throughout their exhausting weightlifting class to stay hydrated.Throughout the 80 minutes of working out, the students pushed themselves to do their best. “This class lets me work out at school and it helps me get to exercise when I need to,” said Kyle.

A Break From the Weights

The Frisco High Weightlifting class takes a break from the weights and plays a friendly game of soccer. The boys pushed each other around and fought for the ball. “Playing soccer in weightlifting is fun because it gives you a break from the traditional weightlifting,” said Deshawn (very right).

Bring it On

The competition is on when the Frisco High weightlifting team plays a competitive game of soccer in the field house. The boys moved fast and played as hard as they possibly could. “I really love to play any social sport and soccer is one of my favorites,” said Leo (very right).

Get Ready to Lift

Junior Deshawn Howard gets ready to put in work on the pull down machine. The boys gave it their all and tried to increase the amount of weight they lifted every time. “I love weightlifting because it gives me a place where I can exercise and be me,” said Deshawn.

Junior Kyle Angell puts his mind to it and begins working his arm muscles. A ton of effort and dedication was given from the boys to help them progress in what they enjoy doing. “I love getting to work out in this class, I highly recommend this class if you want to get a good work out,” Kyle said
