Photo Project

The Assignment

• Form into small groups for the assignment

• Each group will head into the field and obtain photos which express/investigate a place or theme

• Each group to prepare and deliver a short 5-10 minute class presentation on 24 Sep

Pick a theme/place

• The theme of landscape change

• Landscapes of ethnicity

• Vacant lots in Brampton

• Sidewalk litter and garbage in Scarborough

• Toronto oddities

• The Shopping Plazas of Brampton

• Your choice of topic

Media

• Simplest technique is to take or collect photos of the theme

• Could be short video clips/audio clips

• Photos easiest to get into a presentation

Objective

• Not just to collect pictures etc.,

• But to find something to say about the theme

• It’s a form of field research

Assessment

• Photo project will be assessed as part of the participation grade
