At stake at this elections are a total o 18,022 positions. 12 senators will be elected, 229 districtmembers o the House o Representatives, 80 provincial governors, 80 provincial vice governors,
766 members o the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (provincial legislature), 138 city mayors, 138
city vice mayors, 1,532 members o the Sangguniang Panlungsod (city council), 1,496municipal
mayors, 1,496 municipal vice mayors, and 11,972 members o the Sangguniang Bayan (municipal
council).
In the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), there will be elected one regional
governor, one regional vice governor, and 24 regional assemblymen.
Party-list representatives will also be elected.

the witness and other traditional orms o documentary evidence. The Commission shall also accept

the circumstances under which he or she has taken the photographs.

Whatisoverseasvoting?
This is a process by which qualied citizens o the Philippines abroad exercise their right
to vote. Republic Act 9189 or the "Oveseas Absentee Voting Act o 2003" enables Filipino
citizens in other countries to vote or certain positions during election season.
WhydowehaveanOAVSystem?
Because o the state's duty o to provide a system o honest and orderly overseas
absentee voting that upholds the secrecy and sanctity o the ballot. (Sec. 2, Article V, 1987
Consitution). Towards this end, the State ensures equal opportunity to all qualied citizens
o the Philippines abroad in the exercise o this undamental right. (Sec. 2, RA 9189)

The Automated Voting System, or AVS, is a system using appropriate technology
which has been demonstrated in the voting, counting, consolidating, canvassing, and
transmission o election results, and other electoral processes. The technology that theCommission on Elections currently employs is the Precinct Optical Scanner or PCOS.

the AES is used, a random manual audit in one precinct percongressional district will be conducted randomly chosen by
COMELEC in each province and city. Any diference between the

by the computer or procedural error.
