In consultation with Project Engineers, Senior Field Technical Engineers and Client Representatives, I have been responsible for compiling a wide range of complex Technical Documentation relating to the supply and manufacture of heavy mining equipment (Train Unloaders and Train Positioners) valued at some $30 million for major minerals processing clients including BHPBilliton, Rio Tinto, and FMG. This has included:
● Installation procedures and presentations.● Operation and Control procedures and presentations. ● Maintenance manuals for Mechanical, Electrical and Hydraulics systems.● Manufacturers Data Records (up to 30 500 page volumes) to provide a complete record of Traceability of the manufacture of the equipment.● A wide variety of Training manuals and PowerPoint presentations.
Achievements
● Increased productivity and reduced downtime in the production of Technical documents due to constant software failures by the replacement of Microsoft Word with a dedicated desktop publishing program (Adobe InDesign) better able to handle large volume files with detailed engineering graphics,
● Developed a standard template for a Metso Train Unloader Spare Parts manual using high-end 3D graphics.
● Standardised the look and presentation of Metso’s technical documentation in accordance with the Company’s global publication guidelines.
● In the 12 month period from 2012-2013 produced some 27 training manuals and PowerPoint presentations relating to the supply of three BHP Ore Car Dumpers - CD2, CD3, and CD4.

● Production of Construction Worker magazine (circulation 8,600). I sourced and researched stories, conducted interviews and wrote news items concerning the construction industry. I managed most elements of the magazine from pre-press to production.

Achievements
● Being responsible for administering a budget of approximately $150,000 per annum, I was successful in reducing the cost of publishing and distributing quarterly CPSU/CSA Journal (circulation 8,000) by around $3,000 per issue.
● In association with the Secretary I also managed a number of high-profile media campaigns surrounding public sector pay claims. These resulted in increased public debate through letters pages and on talkback and also received coverage in metropolitan and regional print, radio and television outlets.
● In association with the System Administrator I implemented innovative communications strategies which resulted in a substantial improvement to the use of online technologies as a communications tool, such as online surveys which provided immediate feedback from members; bulk emails to members; and electronic newsletters in HTML format.
