Carl Jung- Started Jungian psychology from which the Myers- Briggs Type Indicator was developedSocionics- Socionics is another methodology but isn’t logically sound.
Categorization of personality types through time by famous philosophers and psychologists
How Does this Help You?
Figure out who is naturally attracted to you. (Whom you have Chemistry with)
Find out how your relationships will generally be with others (based on similarity of cognitive type.)
Attempt to read other persons’ tendencies.
Understand peoples’ needs and fears.
Be consciously aware of the people you simply do not cognitively function well with. (A very important social skill.)
Theory
Perception (How we take in Judgement (How we make decisions)
Sensing Intuition Feeling ThinkingEach of these are expressed differently, internally and externally, giving us eight cognitive functions.

Particular Needs and FearsThe needs and fears listed below are universal to every living human being. Certain needs are harder to accomplish because of each type’s cognitive ordering.
ISFP & INFP = Needs understanding and organization. Fears to be confused.ISTJ & ISFJ = Needs to have schedule and internal balance. Fears spiritual disconnect.INTJ & INFJ = Needs to be vital and enjoy physicality. Fears to be weak and unhealthy.INTP & ISTP = Needs to love and be morally sound. Fears to be hateful.ESFJ & ESTJ = Needs to use all potential and be perfect. Fears to miss opportunity.ESFP & ENFP = Needs to be useful and practical. Fears to be useless.ENFJ & ENTJ = Needs to exercise will. Fears to be subjugated.ENTP & ESTP = Needs emotional stimulation and love. Fears to be cold and unloved.
This is based mainly on each type’s 4th “Aspirational” function
Speech-to-Type Formula
Goal: We have to derive 4 letters in the MBTI system to figure out people’s personality type XXXX.
We are going to reverse engineer the process. Here are the perspectives we have to look through for each step of the formula.1. Form Check: Judgment or Perception?2. Content Check: Thinking/Feeling or Sensing/Intuition?3. Content Check: Thinking/Feeling or Sensing/Intuition4. Content Comparison: Of the 1st 2 functions, which one do
they use more than the other?
Step 1Step 1: Are they externally communicating judgments or perceptions?
For Step 1, we are ignoring the contextual meaning of their words and are looking at how the sentences were structured. In essence, we are looking at the form of the sentence.
Judgments give prescriptive meaning.Perceptions give descriptive meaning.
I talk and write judgmentally. Everything I am saying is a prescriptive claim about reality. I am giving a prescribing a judgment to things compared to describing a perception. It is how I form sentences in my head and I cannot change it.
My Perceptive friend (ISTP) Collin talks in descriptions. Everything he says is in the form of a descriptive claim about reality.
Step 1 Examples
Perceptions: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZU_XImyTKy8
Taylor Swift (ISFP) and Ellen DeGeneres (ISTP). Both are describing perceptions they see.
Judgments: George Clooney (ESTJ)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PEJTZWJ1QdQ&feature=relmfu
George is prescribing a judgment he has made about reality.
Step 2: Content Check
We now know whether they are either ___J or ___P.
Content Check: We now will be looking at the content of their words and seeing of the functions which one they are using.
If ___J we have to compare Extraverted Thinking (Te) to Extraverted Feeling (Fe) .If ___P we have to compare Extraverted Sensing (Se) to Extraverted Intuition (Ne) .
Refer back to these for Step 2
Step 3: Content Check
We have established whether they are: _F_J _T_J _S_P _N_P
We now have to figure out then what function they are doing internally.
For the Judgment Types: Introverted Intuition (Ni) or Introverted Sensing (Si) ?
For the Perception Types: Introverted Thinking (Ti) or Introverted Feeling (Fi) ?
Refer back to these for Step 3
Step 4: Content Comparison
We now have ¾ of the letters._FSJ _FNJ _TSJ _TNJ _SFP _STP _NFP _NTP
For the final step we have to compare their 2 functions and see which one they are doing more.
_FSJ as example: We need to compare Introverted Sensing to Extraverted Feeling and see which one they are using more.
Whichever one they use more dominantly gives us the final letter, I or E. ISFJ or ESFJ.
Full Decision TreeXXXX
___J ___P
Step 1. Are they formulating their sentences in judgments or perceptions?
Step 2. What type of judgment? Extraverted Thinking or Extraverted Feeling?
Step 2. What type of perception? Extraverted Sensing or Extraverted Intuition?
__TJ __FJ __SP __NP
Extraverted Thinking
Extraverted Feeling
Extraverted Sensing
Extraverted Intuition
Step 3. What type of perception are they using internally then?
__TJ __FJ __SP __NP
Step 3. What type of judgment are they using internally then?
Introverted Intuition or Introverted Sensing?
Introverted Thinking or Introverted Feeling?
_NTJ _STJ _NFJ _SFJ _STP _SFP _NTP _NFP
Step 4. Introverted dominant function or Extraverted dominant function? Which function are they using more?
For this step, compare the 2 cognitive brain functions, which 1 of the 2 are they using more in their sentences?

What Now?
I would like to create a smartphone app that can figure out a person’s type based off their speech. Speech to Text to Personality Type.
Research now needs to be put forward on finding the exact genes/traits that control this.
What we are looking for definitely is out there. There has to be a logical, biological reason for why people’s faces form the way they form.
