PERSONAL HYGIENE, TABLE SETTING AND “EXCUSE ME”

Personal Hygiene
Come to the table with clean hands and face.
If you need to sneeze or cough, turn your head to the side and use your napkin.
If you need to blow your nose, do not use your napkin.
Personal Hygiene (restrooms) Excuse yourself from the table if you
need to use the restroom. Do all your grooming in the restroom. Do not clean teeth in public ex. With
toothpick, tines of fork and dental floss. If you need to clean your teeth, do it in the bathroom.
Table Setting
Place only needed utensils. Place napkins, forks, and butter plates of left Place knives, spoons, and glasses on the
right Place utensils in order of their use from
the outside in. Bread plate is on the left above forks Water glass on the right directly above
the dinner knife
“Excuse Me”
Say “Excuse me” when: You yawn Waiting to get permission for something If you burp
Pardon Me, I’m Sorry
Say “I’m sorry” when: You have done something to offend
Say “Pardon Me” when: You are in the process of doing something
Please/Thank You
Say “Please” when: You request something
Say “Thank You” when: People have helped you You have received a compliment or gift Say “No, Thank You” when” When you are offered something you
don’t want.
