Building our Legacy for the 21st
Century

Where Others Have Walked In 1961, 14 Catholics in the Black Forest
took the first steps Parish Founded On Christmas, 1965, they dedicated a
church built with their own hands In the 1970s, a Rectory was built for a
resident pastor In 1987, the Annex was added to serve the
growing community

Where We Have Recently
Traveled Our parish grew steadily until it was 585
registered households by the start of 2003
The Inn was full
From 2000 through 2004 a Capital
Campaign was conducted to raise $1.2M
On December 8, 2004, we dedicated our
beautiful new church

Where the Road Has Led Since Grown from 585 to 825 households . . .
And still growing!
Over 200 students attend our Youth
Program
Approximately 175 attend our K-5
program
Our mass attendance has grown from an
average of 750 to 950 per weekend!

At Current Levels Our Classrooms are full!
(note the temps!) Our Parish Hall (OCB & Annex) cannot
hold a large-sized parish event Our Office Space is full and unsafe!
Our church at 10:30 mass is getting tight . . . Did I mention we havent stopped
growing!!

6/22
Our Needs
More and larger classrooms
A larger better equipped parish hall
More, safer and better equipped offices and
meeting rooms
Expansion of our church seating

But Can We Afford It?
We currently owe $1.6M on current church
Arent we struggling to pay our bills?
How much will the new building cost?
Do the Financial numbers support this
direction?
8/14/2019 Parish Town Hall Presentation October 2007
8/22
The Answer is Happily Yes! Current mortgage
Struggling to pay
bills?
Trends predict that
we can accelerate
payment of themortgage as we build
capacity to pay for
both buildings
No. We are always
behind in the Fall.
We actually are ahead
15% year-to-year

9/22
Why Cant We Pay Off
Mortgage First? We could . . . , but . . .
It would take 7-8 years to pay off mortgage at
accelerated pace. Adding 4 years for a three year Capital
Campaign and construction, we would nothave the larger facility for 12 years
By 2019 (twelve years), we are predictedto be at 1400-1500 households, ourestimated maximum size. That is nearly
double! This factors in a successful St.Benedicts!

10/22
Whats the Cost to the Parish if
we delay building? We will not fulfill our mission to serve
every soul in our parish boundaries.
Parishioners grow discouraged and leave
the church, burdening neighboring
parishes, or . . . Leave the faith!

So How Can We Afford This
Now?

So, Where Does That Leave Us Existing Mortgage by end of 2011 will be
in the $1.1 to 1.2M range And we will have the Capacity to continue
to pay that existing mortgage + themortgage for the new building.
Guess what happens the next year? We arepositioned to begin to accelerate thepayments of both!

13/22
But Isnt There Still A Risk Up Until We Break Ground, This Part is
Virtually Free! Minor architecture costs at this point
No Major Costs Until We Break Ground!
Can Delay Construction if we havent met
our financial targets Can stage phases of construction, if
necessary!
8/14/2019 Parish Town Hall Presentation October 2007
14/22
So Which Is MORE Risky? Wait until 2019
Fail to serve our
mission Lose parishioners
Start Now! Position ourselves to
have these facilitiesby 2011
Can simply not build
if not financial ready
Can phaseconstruction if
partially ready
