Planner * Students are expected to write homework in every class * Please sign every night * Card will be marked if planner is not signed Email * See business card for email address Conduct Card * Please sign every Tuesday and return to school

Homework Policy
If homework is incomplete or not returned when it is due, the teacher will impose the following consequence(s):
• Day one, missing or incomplete: -10 points, mark on conduct card, recess ELT (Extended Learning Time) • Day two, missing or incomplete: -20 points, mark on conduct card, recess ELT • Day three, missing or incomplete: -30 points, mark on conduct card, recess ELT • Day four: Child will be assigned a morning ELT.
Grading
• Daily class work, quizzes, at home projects
• Counted once in grade book at 90%
• Tests, in-class projects• Counted twice in grade book at 90%
• Homework, fast facts, some in-class activities
• Counted once at 10%
• Rubrics may be used • Some assignments may be counted
in multiple subject areas
Redo/Re-gradeKaty ISD’s new policies
• What is a Major Grade? What is a Major Test Grade?
• Students will be allowed to redo a major test (counted twice) if they fail with a grade below 70.
• Both failing and retake grade will be averaged for a maximum grade of 70.
• Students will not have the opportunity to retake a daily major grade that they have failed.
• Students who have been absent have one day to complete their assignments for each day they were absent.

Project GLAD
• Created by Orange County Department of Public Education
• A language rich program designed to target student learning and enhance long term memory through the use of visual input and chunking of information.
• Provides seamless integration of subjects with high student involvement.
Lunch/Snacks
• Students may bring a snack each day to eat during class and a water bottle.
• Changes in cafeteria policy:– General Account may be used to purchase meals or
ala carte items.– Meal Account can be used only to purchase one meal
per serving period with no ala carte items. – *Checks must be noted as “meal account only,”
otherwise money will be applied to general account.*– Parents may now use the MealPayPlus prepayment
system with credit or debit cards. Please note, a 4.75% fee per transaction will be assessed.
Parent Conferences
Will begin the 2nd six weeks.

date.
