Imprecise CartographyIn order to discover the American Chaco, we have to destroy its convenonal image. We have to highlight the realies that it conceals.
Therefore, the imprecise cartography that I propose is a path made of images, ideas and words of the very people who make those territories. The power of the look, the inmacy of the human contact and the authencity of words are claimed in sharp contrast with the coldness of the data that govern the bureaucrac world.
This project is composed by photographic portraits and three short videos, called: ‘Marks and Looks’ and ‘Territories’, respecvely.
Marks and Looks It is a series of portraits, arranged in triptychs, of the indigenous people who are historically seled in the region known as Chaco.
Ñacoe Etacoro; Ayoreo Totoviegosode people.
Romualdo Peña; Park ranger at ‘Kaa Iya’
Doris Estela Pérez; Ishir people.
TerritoriesIt is an alternave typology of three territories idenfied by means of meeng and listening to the local people themselves. These are:
i) latent territories
ii) territories in reconstrucon
iii) territories in constant resistance
This is an installaon composed by three short videos.

The MennonitesBolivia’s eastern lowlands are home to thousands of Mennonite families. Tradion vs modernity connues to be the dilemma, everything else has changed.
