Father Brian Harrington, Pastor
The number of priests per Catholic has declined over the past 40 years. This makes it more difficult for individual parishioners to establish a close relationship with any one particular priest. Furthermore, priests are no longer the only ones who offer pastoral care to our people. Yet without a priest, no parish is able to be a Eucharistic community. It is important to reaffirm the importance of the priesthood of Jesus Christ
Please pray for our parish family members who are sick: Ella Mae LeBlanc, Leslie Douet, Susie M. Romero, Jordyn Turner, Allison Leonard, Shelton Dutil, Ellen McDonald, Haden Coleman, Daniel Alleman., Joseph Campbell, Mack Sedatol, Lacey Horton, Derick Landry, Winnie Belle Menard, Lou Lopez, David Fontenot, Diane Toups, Francis Crochet, Walter LeBlanc, Anna Lee Mendoza, Lee Dautreuil, Kurt Menard, Warren LeBlanc, Carolyn Brown, Amanda Durke, Bill David, Connie Elias, Mabel Landry, Margaret LeBlanc, Kael Bryant Landry, Wendy Bouzigard, Euline Guilbeau, Kyle Bussas, Joseph Fitch, Leah Peltier, Bill DeSoto, Don Pomier, Mary Daigle, Grant Colomb, Debbie Hyde, Robert Romero, Bailey Dore, Kylee Peltier, Willey Poirrier, Patti Gonzales, Camryn Robichaux, Griffin Romero, Noah Randazzo, Casey Derouen & Family, Griffin Monte, Melvin Hamilton, Kade Breaux, L’Oreal Migues, Althonese Landry, Monica Bouillion, Victoria Verret, Johnny Romero, Mary Rentrop, Mary Ann Romero, Elly Romero, Tyler Richard, Tina Bodin, Anthony DeRanger, Jimmy Romero, Billy Thibodeaux, Lorena Williams, Jimmy Derise, Chasity Romero, Gladys Dilbeck, Judy Schexnayder, Chanda Romero, Jackie Gary, Doris Richard, Charles Richard, Kimberly Moreaux, Howard J. Viewing daily & weekend Masses!
While in Phase III of Governor Edward’s mandates, Father Harrington is still live streaming the daily masses at the regularly scheduled
times of Tuesday at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday & Thursday at 7:00 a.m. and Friday at 5:30 p.m. for Lent, also the weekend Mass on Saturday 4:00 p.m. and on Sunday at 9:00 a.m. on Facebook Live to view live or at your convenience. Once the Mass has been recorded, Father Harrington will insert a link on our church website (olpscoteau.com) for you and your family to view at your convenience. Please refer to our Website and Facebook page for all other information you may need. As notifications are sent to us from Bishop Deshotel we will then inform our parish family of all events. Please note that we will continue our 5:30 p.m. Mass on Saturday afternoon until April 24. We will now designate the wings of our church as the three feet social distancing with mask areas. The main nave of the church will have sitting with no stipulations for social distancing or mask. We will also go up for Holy Communion. However, for now we will ask for all to enter through the front doors of church. The dispensation for attendance at Holy Mass is still in effect.
New Mausoleum A Big Success–
We wish to thank everyone for the warm
reception given to Joe Blanchard, Ronnie
Thibodeaux, and Tommy Lyons who are
visiting families in the area concerning our
New Mausoleum, which will be built in
OLPS Cemetery. The active survey part of the program is
scheduled to be completed in the next few weeks. Therefore, all
families that have not made a final decision are reminded that
this will be the last opportunity to make financial arrangements
with American Cemetery Consultants. If you have not been
contacted about the new mausoleum, and are interested, only a
short time remains on our survey period. Only those families
that contract for spaces now will be assured burial places in the
Memorial. Remember, the final size of the building will be
determined by the number of families that select spaces during
this part of the program. ACT NOW!! Call 337-326-5689

Our Future Legacy …
This past weekend was our 2nd Collection for our Debt Reduction. Thanks to those who donated to our collection which will repeat monthly on the 3rd Sunday of each month. After completion of our church renovations we incurred this debt from our new parking lot project, purchasing the Williams house for our office and the property adjacent to our cemetery. Our total parishioner donations collected this month was $1271.01. Thank you to all who are able to generously support this monthly collection.
Thanks for everyone's generosity in March May God reward your family.
