Transcript of Our use of camera shots, angles and

Are used so the audience knows where

the film is taking place, we initially filmed

an establishing shot however when

editing we found that if we used it

the trailer

would look

more like a

film opening.

We used a variety of closes ups as they

capture the emotions of the characters

which engages the viewer

We also experimented with intense close

ups, this can show real emotion and fear

in a character , it can create a sense of

tension and claustrophobia to put an

audience on

the edge.

We found mid shots a great shot in the

trailer as it the composition of the most

important part of the character; the

face but also expresses some of their

body

language.

Although their are 2 characters shown in

our trailer the camera never shows both

of them at the same time, however we

included some two-shots because the

composition

is the same

person but also

there reflection.

We filmed a shot reverse shot however in the trailer it slowed the pace down which was not the intention. However the shot-revere-shot is still an important shot as the audience can experience a conversation and feel involved with the film.

This is one of our most important shots and

we use it quite often, because our plot is

to do with the possession of mirrors and

the girl it was very important to get the

characters

and mirrors in

the same shot.

High angle is where the camera is

shooting from above, this can

demonstrate power and dominance in a

shot.

Low angle gives the perspective of

insignificance and fear, which is why it is

and effective shot in our trailer.

Although mainly our angles are at eye

level, this makes it more direct and

realistic especially because our film is

supposed

to be through

the eyes of

the sister.

Pan is a great

movement especially

because our film

consists on the handi

cam perspective,

through this movement

the audience gets to

see the environment

and also builds tension.

A track movement is when the camera

follows the character. We filmed a track

movement however we found that the

shot seemed to boring for the trailer.

Again we filmed a dolly which is the

movement of the character walking

towards the camera but it felt to slow in

our trailer and ineffective.

Steadi cam was a great movement to

use as it is at eye level but you are able

to follow the character round. This is a

great technique in horror films because

as in ours you follow the character in the

mirror and

then they

disappear.

Handi cam is are most important aspect

in the film, we filmed in a Paranormal

Activity style and made it a first hand

perspective, this engages the audience

and focuses on point of view shots

through hand

held movements.
