The end of the year is fast approaching but that doesn’t mean our school is slowing down! Quite the opposite.
The Leadership Team is busy working with staff and our School Board on plans for our school improvement strategies in 2019, including our workforce and budget.
Teachers are currently busily writing reports, developing the new class lists for 2019 and mapping out the curriculum for 2019, with inquiry learning units in mind.
Year 6 Teachers and students are preparing for the Year 6 Graduation dinner on Tuesday 4th December.
The Student Leadership Council (SLC) are working on a number of projects which they launched last Friday, ready for next year:
new playground design with feedback from students in Years 3-6. This will replace our existing old playground near the basketball courts in 2019
design of our new sports uniforms for each sporting house, to be launched in 2019
introduce Student Voice, Positive Choice awards to assembly, starting this week. Encouraging students in our school to be Awesome, Respectful, Brave & Positive!
Most of the work around the school with Power and Water has now been completed, with just a few fenced off areas now. Thank you to everyone for your patience. Don’t forget to put ‘Durack School’s Award Assembly’ in your diary. This year we will include the whole school and all our awards at this very special assembly. No other performances will take place at this assembly, as it is dedicated to celebrating the success of our students. Parents of students getting awards will be contacted the week before, so you will know to attend.
