Dear OLSH Family:
Take some time today and through-out the week to sit by the sea in your prayer
with Jesus. Listen to His words. Use your imagination in pray-er to see how He looks at you. How can you see how Jesus looks at you? Just look at a crucifix. He loves you that much, to die for you. Look at Him even in a Nativity scene – there are plenty you can Google if it’s too complicated to find your Christmas boxes. That baby was born for you! This is how much God loves you! Take that child in your arms in your prayer. Be renewed by this tremendous, awesome love God has for us! And remember that love is for you and the people around you. It includes the person who most irritates you. Beg the Lord to show you how to love more with His love, with His most Sacred Heart! We can be His instruments of healing if we do this! This is what He wants for us! This is how we can all come to be truly free! If you’re worried about our country and our world, start here. Start with love. Be rich soil for God’s Word to blossom. What beauty we are in the world when we love! What a mercy we can be to others if we are all about God.
With love and prayers, Fr. Francis

we ought to rejoice, and acknowledge

Prayers to the Virgin Mary
for Protection
O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope. We
entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick.
At the foot of the Cross you participated in Jesus’ pain, with steadfast faith.
You, Our Lady of New York, know what we need.
We are certain that you will provide, so that, as you did at Cana of Galilee, joy and feasting might return after this moment of trial. Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform ourselves to the Father’s will and to do what Jesus tells us: He who took our sufferings upon Himself, and bore our sorrows to bring us, through the Cross, to the joy of the Resurrection. Amen.
We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our pleas – we who are put to the test – and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin Amen.

Prayer for Spiritual
Communion
My Jesus, I believe that you are pre-
sent in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love you above all things and I
desire to receive you in my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment
receive you sacramentally,
Come at least spiritually into my
heart.
I embrace you as if you were already
there
And unite myself wholly to you.
Never permit me to be separated
from you. Amen.

For the Children Sharing the Gospel
The farmer is God. The seed is God's Word. That makes the soil your heart. If your heart is angry or stubborn, God's Word can't sink in. If your heart is shallow, God's Word can't take root. Instead, you will worry about getting power or riches. If your heart is discouraged by people who hate God, your faith will choke. If your heart is soft, God's Word will change your life, and it will show.
Prayer
God, help my heart to be soft. Help your Word to
change my life.
Something to Draw
Draw a picture of a seed growing in good soil.
Mission for the Week
Visit a garden center. Learn why plants need good
soil to grow.
