Middle-Tier Java Pricing Engine

The new Middle-Tier Java Pricing Engine significantly improves performance compared to the existing PL/SQL engine. Pricing data is cached in memory thus minimizing the number of database queries and achieves extensively improved response times. In this release, not all features of pricing are supported such as: limits, PL/SQL custom hooks, and coupon redemption. This feature is available in Oracle application for Basic and Advanced Pricing. Java engine public API is only available for Advanced Pricing. This feature is available to approved Strategic Implementation Program Nominees

New HTML Pricing Setup UI’s

Advanced Pricing now offers a new user interface (UI) in HTML that guides users easily through the setup for price lists and for the modifier types of discount, surcharge, promotional goods and price breaks. There is a new, straightforward create model for qualifiers setup. The ‘Recently Created’ view displays newly created Price Lists and Modifiers. These simplified UI’s allow easier creation and maintenance functionality for new and experienced users of Advanced Pricing.

Accumulated Range Breaks Advanced Pricing has new functionality that allows users to create range price breaks based upon an accumulated value. This offers customers ultimate flexibility enabling users to create discounts based on business specific custom aggregate data. There is a new field on the modifier form, Accumulation Attribute. Users can map this accumulation attribute to a custom aggregate source using Attributing Mapping or with new functionality the pricing engine can fetch this value at engine run time. The pricing engine will use the Accumulated Attribute value in a price break range type modifier as the starting point to calculate the discount.

Bulk Loader for Price Lists Price List Bulk Loader functionality is a new concurrent program to import large volume of price lists via the interface tables. The bulk loader is an alternative to and provides increased performance compared to using the business object API.

Optional Currency Modifier Advanced Pricing has enhanced functionality allowing users to create a modifier available to all currencies. Users will have the option to not select a currency in the modifier header. This benefits customers who define modifiers types that are not currency specific by reducing the number of modifiers that must be maintained. This feature does not support currency conversions.

Buckets for Manual Modifiers Advanced Pricing now supports bucket functionality for manual line level and group of line level modifiers enabling users to implement additional discounting strategies. If a bucketed manual adjustment is applied, then adjustments in subsequent buckets will be recalculated. The ability to allow manual bucketed modifiers is controlled by a new profile, QP: Allow Buckets For Manual Modifiers

HVOP Pricing in Order Management

The new HVOP Pricing feature is available for users of Order Management High Volume Order Processing. Bulk pricing across orders improves the performance of pricing high volume of order lines. In this release, bulk pricing will be enabled for pricing setups that meet the following criteria: · Java pricing engine is installed (refer to Middle-Tier Java Pricing engine for features supported and criteria) · Some restrictions on Custom Sourcing rules that use information from the current order/line from the OE tables · Please refer to Order Management for additional information on pricing features that are supported

Archive/Purge Price List/Modifier Data

Pricing now provides users the ability to archive and purge Price Lists and Modifiers. This enables users to manage current pricing data and improve processing by removal of unnecessary price list and modifier list lines. New form and concurrent program are provided for users to select from the archive/purge parameters. During archive, selected data will be transferred into pricing permanent archive tables and deleted from the pricing setup tables. The user can then choose to purge the data from these archive tables. This feature does not support restoring the purged data.

Blanket Sales Agreement Support

Pricing provides additional features to support the Blanket Sales Agreement (BSA) feature of Order Management. These changes include: · BSA users have limited functionality to create in-line price lists and modifiers setup. This data is automatically created in pricing setup. · Link from the BSA form to access Price List and Modifier setup forms. · Customer Name and Customer Number related fields have been added to the Price List Setup Form. · Customer Item, Address and Address Category fields have been added to Price List lines. · BSA accumulated volumes will be seeded as a new Accumulation Attribute. This will enable users to create price break range type modifiers based on accumulated BSA fulfillments. This feature is only available for Advanced Pricing.

Service Contracts Usage Modification and Price Locking Support

Advanced Pricing provides additional features to support the Service Contract price break usage modification calculations and contracted price locking. There is a new profile QP: Break UOM Proration Allowed and when set to Yes, activates two new fields for Price Breaks on Price List lines: Volume Break UOM, and Break UOM Attribute. During a usage call, when these values are present the pricing engine will convert the price break ranges and returned value into the UOM specified by the calling application. The Usage Modification feature is available to any calling application making a usage call. Advanced Pricing will now provide the ability for Service Contract price breaks lines to be locked. Changes to the price list will not affect a price break that has been locked against a contract line unless a user elects to refresh the price break in the contract. The Price Locking feature is only available to the Service Contracts application. Please refer to Service Contracts for additional information.

iStore Qualifier Support

Advanced Pricing provides additional support for iStore with a new seeded qualifier, Specialty Store Name. This allows an iStore merchant to create specific discounts for different stores and for merchants who have mini sites at various locations requiring different pricing rules.
