• Onomatopoeia are words that sound like the objects or actions they refer to.

• Onomatopoeia words help form visual pictures in the readers mind.

• Basically, an onomatopoeia is a word which imitates a noise or action.

• Zip goes the jacket• " Zip" is an onomatopoeia word because it

sounds like a jacket is zipping up. When you zip up a zipper the sound the zipper makes sounds like a zipper
