Dan Riordan and
Thank you for being here tonight and supporting this fundraiser
for Hospice of Amador & Calaveras. The most important reason
we need to raise money is to overcome the gap between what
Medicare reimburses for hospice care and what it actually costs
to provide the high level, end of life care that is the hallmark of
our Agency. As the only non-profit, community-based hospice
providing care in Amador & Calaveras for over 32 years we do
not limit the amount of care our patients and families receive.
Each patient and family is treated with dignity and respect as we
do all we can to enable them to live each day as fully as possible.
Each one of us here tonight are part of this very special group
who have been touched by Hospice Care and who want to do
our best to support this very important cause.
Last year we provided exceptional end-of-life care to over 350
patients and families in Calaveras and Amador counties. In ad-
dition each year through our Griefbuster Program we provide
loving companionship to school-aged children as they grieve the
loss of a special loved one in their lives. The Griefbuster program
receives absolutely no funding whatsoever other than gifts and
grants from folks like you! In addition, we provide bereavement support for hundreds of
individuals each year through our meetings, phone calls and mailings.
Thank you for your support tonight. We hope you enjoy this production of Calaveras
Live and that you will support this fundraiser to the best of your ability. Any and all con-
tributions you make tonight – large and small – through purchasing tickets, bidding on
antiques or artwork, participating in the raffle, or simply making additional donations
are deeply appreciated. At Hospice of Amador & Calaveras it is our desire to continue to
maintain our independent status
and thereby remain beholding only
to our patients, families and our
community at large.
Please support all of our very
generous local businesses and spon-
sors listed in this program tonight.
Through their support we have al-
ready raised close to $10,000. Our
goal tonight is to raise $20,000 and
with your help we can make this
happen!
Enjoy the evening!
