Tween Sisters von Grey "Make Some Noise" With Upcoming Georgia, Nashville Showdates
Multi-talented musicians von Grey are set to support their
debut country music ep release "Make Some Noise" with
showdates throughout Georgia and the Southeast. The
four sisters ranging from 11-16 years, bring their unique
flair to cross-over country music, incorporating elements
of a variety of musical genres into their songs. A recent
von Grey show at Holly Theater in Dahlonega was her-
alded as "one of the best shows" in quite some time at the
venue. von Grey's active touring schedule includes an
upcoming showdate on Oct 7, at The Listening Room,
209 10th Ave S., Nashville, TN 37204 - 5:30PM
"Make Some Noise" is a fitting title for von Grey’s inau-
gural CD. This group of four sisters is creating some amazing “noise” and generating chatter amongst fans & critics.
Aim high and then reach higher… is the von Grey motto. They began making music before many children can ride a
bicycle and persist in expanding their boundaries and testing their potential. Each of the four sisters began classical
instruction at age five. In 2007, they began playing chamber music, under the name Kannafitra. By 2008, they had
expanded into Celtic, folk, and Bluegrass - adding vocals and several traditional instruments. In early 2009, they
formed the band “von Grey” and the girls have been rocking-out ever since. The past years of practice and explora-
tion have finally “led us to the right place,” says Annika.
As the band’s body of original work has increased, von Grey has definitely managed to create a sound of its own.
They cite a diverse range of influences - from Lady Antebellum, Ben Harper & Sheryl Crow, to Nickel Creek. von
Grey’s original works are rooted in country, yet they manage to weave in creative elements from across musical
genres. Being able to create music from within has brought a passion that’s apparent in their recorded music and live
performances. Kathryn (16), Annika (15), Fiona (13) and Petra (11) abandon the teen norm of conformity - charting
their own path with original ideas, and being comfortable with their individuality.
These young ladies represent a new breed of American teenager. They have found a balance in being cool while still
being accomplished; sober about the need for hard work and discipline, yet able to keep their sense of humor and
youth. Their focus and commitment has paid clear dividends. In 2008, Annika won the top prize in the U.S. 12-and-
under Irish fiddler’s competition. In 2009, Annika and Fiona shared the stage at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre with world
famous Irish fusion band, The Chieftains. In 2010, von Grey won the LilithFair “Local Talent Search” and opened
for Sarah McLachlan. Since then, the band has worked with notable musicians, such as Ed Roland from Collective
Soul, and racked up fans and public recognition for their musical talents.
These four sisters have vastly different personalities, but their passion for music ties them together in a tapestry of
creativity, radiating from their souls. They strike an attractive balance, combining a youthful and even elegant femi-
ninity with an ability to be assertive and daring - about social causes, teen advocacy, and the pursuit of musical ex-
cellence. Their music is equally at home with tight guitar licks, smokin' violin solos, and rich cello sounds - all com-
bined with 3 and 4 part harmonies and a lyrical dimension embodying a maturity of thought, intellect & expression,
while also maintaining down-home accessibility.
Four sisters, 12 instruments, family-harmonies, and captivating performances all come together to define von Grey

38 Special • Live From Texas • www.38special.com
The Southern Rock group, 38 Special is legendary in the music world. Band members Donnie
Van Zant, Don Barnes, Danny Chauncey, Larry Junstrom, Bobby Capps and Gary Moffatt com-
bine talents to make their signature sound. This new CD, Live From Texas, captures perform-
ances in various Texas cities, but what is really captured is the essence of the group – their intense
energy and hard drivin’ sound. A live anthology of sorts, 38 Special performs some of their
greatest hits like “Rockin’ Into The Night,” “Back Where You Belong,” “Fantasy Girl” and so
many others. This 15-song CD showcases 38 Special at their best!

Joey + Rory • A Farmhouse Christmas • www.joeyandrory.com
Husband/wife duo, Joey + Rory add their distinctive sound to a new Christmas project entitled A
Farmhouse Christmas. Listening to their honest and sincere vocals brings the CD to life with fa-
miliar songs like “If We Make It Through December” and “Blue Christmas.” They also introduce
some new favorites like “What The Hell (It’s The Holidays)” and “The Diamond O.” Mixing
their bluegrass/country sound with the holiday season ensures that everyone will be having a tra-
ditional country Christmas. This CD is destined to become a holiday favorite.
Kevin Fowler • Chippin’ Away • www.kevinfowler.com
Texas has long produced great country music artists and Kevin Fowler is no exception. His new
CD, Chippin’ Away is a reflection of some strong Texas roots mixed with a reverence for pure
honky-tonkin’, beer-drinkin’ country music. From “Hell Yeah I Like Beer” to “Girl In A Truck,”
it shows that Kevin is enjoying his work with a vocal delivery that is solid, fun and energizing,
but don’t think he has just one groove, his delivery of “Daddies And Daughters” is touching and
heartwarming. Hell yeah Kevin Fowler is country!
Montgomery Gentry • Rebels On The Run • www.montgomerygentry.com
Montgomery Gentry is a familiar name to country fans. Since their arrival on the country music
scene, this duo comprised of Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry have been known for their hard
-kickin’, edgy brand of music. Their first CD in a while, Rebels On The Run catapults them back
into the mainstream spotlight with their trademark blend of Southern Rock and Country capturing
the heart of the working man with songs like “Damn Right I Am” and “Work Hard, Play Harder.”
Take note – these Kentucky rebels are back and sounding better than ever!
Nick Verzosa • She Only Loves Me • www.nickverzosa.com
Texas entertainer, Nick Verzosa’s new CD, She Only Loves Me highlights vocals that are genuine
and earthy. His country edge mixed with a little rockabilly and a touch of the blues makes for
some first-rate “Red Dirt” music. The album runs the gamut from up-tempo fun with “Change
Your Mind” and “7th Year Senior” to the heartfelt and soulful ballad “I Wouldn’t Answer.” This
project should catapult Nick Verzosa even further up the Texas charts.

George “The Possum” Jones Celebrates 80th Birthday!
George Jones, longed revered as a country music living legend, recently celebrated his 80th
birthday. The festivities began in downtown Nashville at Rippy’s Smokin’ Bar & Grill
with fans, friends and media on hand to deliver birthday wishes. A star-studded event,
many artists dropped in to commemorate “The Possum’s” milestone including Travis Tritt,
Eddy Raven, Bryan White, Guy Penrod, Ken Mellons, Billy Yates, The McClymonts, T.G.
Sheppard, Kelly Lang, Razzy Bailey, Jason Michael Carroll, Elaine Roy of The Roys, Ja-
mie Dailey of Dailey & Vincent and others.
That same evening, the party continued at the Grand Ole Opry
with musical tributes by Alan Jackson, Lee Ann Womack, Jamey Johnson, The Oak
Ridge Boys, and Joe Diffie among others. They performed some Jones’ classics like
“I Don’t Need Your Rocking Chair,” “White Light-
ning” and “Golden Rings.” While the music was
fantastic, and the recognition heartwarming, let us
not forget the “possum” cake!
Throughout the night, television cameras and microphones bombarded Jones,
but he took it all in stride walking the “red carpet” in style, answering questions
with ease about his career and his long, sometimes tumultuous life. Admittedly
a little surprised to still be here at 80, he credits God and his wife, Nancy for
saving him from his wild lifestyle. With over 50 years of music success under
his belt, Jones has no plans to slow down now, which is great news for country
music fans!

Rumble for the Heartland (Operation Homefront and Walter Reed Medical Center to benefit from custom made motorcycle)
Operation Homefront and Walter
Reed Medical Center Will Benefit
From Custom Made Motorcycle built
by Ralph Randolph
A motorcycle enthusiast, television
star and an inspiring humanitarian,
Lorenzo Lamas built his first chopper
in 1979. In 2007 Lorenzo teamed up
with successful television producer
Chad Greulach who shared the same vision. They then
recruited world-class builder Eddie Trotta and later
brought Ralph Randall on board as their second master
builder. Lorenzo cycles are known to not only be a
cycle in a league of their own but also a lifestyle.
Lorenzo Lamas Cycles along with “Walk With He-
roes” are currently in the midst of working hard for the
official “Rumble For the Heartland.” As a result, a
custom motorcycle will be won by one lucky person in
a drawing to benefit “Operation Homefront” and Wal-
ter Reed Medical Center. Through this special event,
America’s military families and our wounded warriors
will be supported. This special motorcycle was appro-
priately built by Mesa-AZ builder, former US Marine
and captain with US Airways, Ralph Randolph for the
71st Sturgis motorcycle Rally. This FXR-inspired
Lorenzo Lamas Cycle Patriot boasts an S & S 124”
twin-cam motor, fight dirty 2-into-1 exhaust, HD 6
speed transmission, and avon tires. All proceeds from
the auction will go directly toward Operation Home-
front’s emergency financial assistance for military
families, transitional housing for recovering wounded-
warrior families and other support and morale pro-
grams.
Lorenzo Lamas and Chad Greulach graciously took
time from their busy schedules to talk with me about
this charitable ride, Operation Homefront, their in-
volvement with Walk With Heroes and the Walter
Reed Medical Center. Lorenzo said: “We’re really
excited to give back to the men and women that sacri-
fice everything that is near and dear to us. This is just
a small token of our appreciation and pales in compari-
son to the sacrifice that these men and women make
when they sign the dotted line to give to our country.”
Chad says they are always looking to help and that
touring the Walter Reed Medical Center influenced
him in such a way that from that day forward he
by Holly Marie Tong

wanted to help support the troops, their passion, their
commitment, and their freeing of other nations from
oppressive dictatorships. He continued by saying
“Though their service resulted in a life changing acci-
dent, I never once heard from any individual that they
were sorry that they served, nor did I ever hear them
blame the government. I heard an unwaivering com-
mitment.” Lorenzo continued by saying “I have a tre-
mendous amount of respect for these individuals.
Never have I met an athlete, a big star or a single indi-
vidual that impressed me as much as these men and
women. We want to help by putting these families up,
paying for expenses and helping cope with changes.
Our concern as a company and our desire is that we can
send them a check that will somehow go into that and
help the family or one individual with whatever
amount we can raise – it would make me feel really
good.”
The tour
which
began in
Sturgis
(Devil’s
Tower)
on Au-
gust 9 has
already
featured
Toby
Keith and Poison as entertainment. On September 2nd
a stop was made right here in middle Tennessee. The
staging area was Appleton Harley-Davidson in Clarks-
ville, TN and the termination point was the Woods at
Fontanel for a total of 80 miles. Big and Rich along
with Gretchen Wilson were the featured entertainment
supporting active duty and vets on a ride to honor the
101st Airborne Division. Participants should know
that 100% of profit has went to benefit Operation
Homefront and the newly-formed Walter Reed Na-
tional Military Medical Center.
The official Rumble for the Heartland motorcycle will
be raffled to one lucky supporter during Daytona Bike
Week 2012 on March 17th. Tickets are $100 each. To
