TYPES OF WINDOWS

Sliding Windows• Windows that slide open

vertically are called double-double-hunghung

• Horizontal sliding Horizontal sliding windows slide open from side to side

• Sliding windows open easily and allow plenty of ventilation.

Casement windows Casement windows open and close with a crank.

Awning windows Awning windows swing outward at the bottom. Provides protection from rain.

Hopper windows Hopper windows are similar to awning windows except the top swings inward.

• Jalousie windows Jalousie windows are a series of horizontal adjustable glass slats fastened to a metal frame

• They open and close with a crank.

Fixed windows allow light but do not open and come in many shapes and sizes.
