Scatterplots

• In this tutorial, you’ll be exploring how to construct a Scatterplot. The steps in the tutorial include:– Creating a Spreadsheet Window.– Inputting the Scatterplot data into the

spreadsheet.– Creating a Graph Window.– Linking the data to the Scatterplot.

Create a Spreadsheet Window

Click on the + tool to activate this menu.

Input the Scatterplot Data

The first thing to do is add column headings for your Scatterplot data.

Highlight the cell above column A and add the column heading “x”. Press Enter.

Repeat with Column B. Add the “y” column heading. Press Enter.

Input the data in Column A. Press Enter after each entry.

Repeat with the data for Column B.

Create a Graph Window

The next step is to create a Graph Window that will display the Spreadsheet data. Press the +

button and select Graphs.

By default the Function Entry line is active. You need to change the Graph window to display

Scatterplots.

Configure for a Scatterplot

Select Graph Entry/Edit > Scatter Plot.

Link the Spreadsheet Data

This is the Scatterplot entry line. You now want to link the Spreadsheet column headings to x and y.

Input x as shown. Then press the Down arrow to go to the y entry line.

Link the Spreadsheet Data

Input y as shown. Press Enter.

Graph the Scatter Plot

You should now see the graph of the Spreadsheet data as a Scatterplot.
