OtherValidityConsiderations

Thissectionhighlightstwoothertypesofvalidity—convergentandconstructvalidity—andwhatitwouldtaketoestablishthemforSpiritMap,andthechallengesofestablishingthemforSpiritMap.

Convergentvalidity,thedegreetowhichtwomeasuresorconstructsthattheoreticallyshouldberelated,areinfactrelated,wouldprovideanotherperspectiveonSpiritMap’svalidity.Forexample,wecouldlookatconvergentvaliditybylookingatthecorrelationsbetweenSpiritMapdomainscoresandSWBQdomainscores.BecausetheSWBQisconsideredavalidinventory(GomezandFisher,2003),thisinventory,webelieve,couldbeusedasabenchmarkforsuchacomparison.
