Starting the NCR/Scrap data tracking application

User must first login to system (see system administrator for user ID).

A wrong username and/or password combination will trigger the incorrect login message:

The Non-Conformance Center is displayed first. By default, no information is populated in the form. This form is for recording and viewing product non-conformances.

Click the LOAD button on the toolbar to import NCR data:

User Profile Options screen To see the options you have (or the employee logged-in), click the My Profile Settings tab. Options cannot be changed or modified here; instead, use the account options page (admin).

Program Settings (admin) The program/application settings section is for viewing the settings associated with the application. Options here cannot be modified; changes are made in the database file.

Tracking scrap with the Scrap Tracker

Shown in Advanced View, the scrap tracker allows data entry and review of scrap generated in the facility. This feature starts off in Standard View mode and does not load data at startup. Click the Load Data button to retrieve and display information. Click Advanced or Standard buttons to toggle between views.

The Menu

Simple to use menu allows user to select various options. The menu is account-specific.

HINT: Double-click Exit to quickly close and end the application or select one of the other options in the menu to Log off User (and switch user) or Quit Application with a confirmation message box.

The Hide Workspace button toggles the application data screen and displays the company logo and the button text will change to Show Workspace.

Adding an image to your NCR:

While entering your NCR, or later reviewing, you decide to add a photo of the discrepancy to the file, click the +image button to the left of the lot number.

A series of dialog boxes will come up asking you to locate the image and finally uploading to a network folder.

! Click BROWSE to locate the file.

! Click OPEN, then click SAVE

Application notifies the user of the file location, click OK

!

File name is proposed (based on lot number and record ID):

! Click SAVE

! Image is saved to the default image folder (specified in application settings database).

Administrator can confirm that your image is in the default network folder:

Performing searches

A user may search the NCR database by entering keywords into the search for box. For example to find NCRs that were generated for ‘ink spots,’ the user could key in %spots% in the search for box, select Reason for NCR from the ‘search by’ drop-down menu then click ‘GO’ to retrieve any data containing the characters ‘spots’ (see example below):

! After clicking ‘Go’ the results are displayed if any. Notice data in the Reason column below contain all or part of the text ‘spots’

! User may search for data by lot number, shop order, work center etc. Available search criteria are in the search by menu.

Default searches may be executed with the point and click of the mouse in the Show NCRs menu:

Description of default searches: All – retrieves all NCRs in the database Open – will retrieve NCRs that are generated have an NCR log number and are under review Closed – shows all NCRs that have been processed and marked as closed by QA representative New – shows all NCRs that are generated and have not been reviewed or assigned an NCR log number by QA representative Current – will show all NCRs (new and open) that have been generated within the last 30 days
