Noel N.O.W. Chair Pockets (these pockets were designed to hang from the back of the chairs we use in our Contemporary worship service. They are designed to hold a pen, visitor /prayer
request cards, etc. and can be easily removed so that the chairs can be stacked & stored)
For each pocket Cut: 2 rectangles of blue denim 10.5” x 5.5 “ 2 rectangles of blue denim 13” x 5.5 “ 1 rectangle of plastic needlepoint canvas 7.5” x 4.24 1 strip of Velcro, 4 “ long Directions: (I used white thread so that it would show up in pictures, but of course you would want to use thread that matches the fabric) 1--With right sides together, sew the top & bottom of the smaller rectangle with ½” seams, leaving sides open.
2--Turn right side out and press well. 3--Fold the bottom up 4” and press again.
4--Stitch a “Pen pocket” 2” from left side.
5--Lay on top of the right side of one of the long pieces, having the bottom edge ¾” from the bottom of the long piece.
6--Machine-baste raw edges in place.
7--With right sides together, lay other long piece on top and pin. Stitch ½” seam around both sides and bottom, leaving the top edge free.
8--Trim corners. Turn right side out and press well. 9--Top-stitch across bottom of pocket.
10--Slide plastic needlepoint canvas into he opening and be sure it is positioned at the bottom.
11--On back of pocket, measure down 4“ from the top and sew the soft side of the Velcro in place across the back of the pocket.
12--Press under the top edges.
13--Position the rough side of the Velcro flush with the top edge and top-stitch the top edge shut, stitching through Velcro at the same time.
