Not much to say…overnight flight, take a snooze.

Day 2

Explore Madrid and see the sights! Such as the Plaza Mayor, a major attraction in Madrid.

Day 3

More explorin’ to do here in Madrid! Then, on to Toledo!

The Gothic Cathedral is one of the many attractions in Toledo!

Day 4

Ride the AVE train! TO BARCELONA!

Day 5Barcelona biking! Today, you travel around and look at things like the Gothic Quarter Barceloneta and the Olympic Port.

Day 6

Travel across the Pyrénées to Carcassonne.

Day 7

Visit ancient Nîmes and see the Roman arena, then journey to Avignon to see the nearby Pont du Gard

Day 8

Travel today to charming Les Baux and Aix-en-Provence. Then make your way to Nice, stopping en route to enjoy a Taste of the Mediterranean, including regional specialties like tapenade and locally produced oils. Nom nom nom nom nom…

Day 9

Cross the Italian border to Pisa. View the Leaning Tower, then continue to Florence.

Day 11

This morning's sightseeing includes a timed entrance to the Accademia to view Michelangelo's David, Santa Croce, and the Duomo. Then learn more about a local art technique during a fresco painting lesson, where you will create your own piece to take home. The afternoon is free to explore.

Day 12-14

Drive to St. Francis' town of Assisi to learn about Giotto's masterpieces. Continue to the capital city of Rome for the evening.

Today's sightseeing tour introduces you to every phase of Rome's history with a panoramic drive of the city. In addition, your local guide accompanies you through the Vatican Museums, including the Sistine Chapel, and continues to St. Peter's Basilica, giving commentary via personal headsets. Later, an inside visit to the Colosseum is included. Tonight, enjoy a pizza dinner, Roman style.

Enjoy time to discover more of Rome on your own, or take an optional excursion to 2,000-year-old Pompeii, which was wonderfully preserved by ash from Mount Vesuvius
