Bunnings BBQ A big THANK YOU to everyone who helped at the P&C Bunnings
barbecue fundraiser last Saturday 8th September in Belconnen.
The Bunnings barbecues are always very profitable and a great way to raise
much needed funds for schools. It was a fun and successful day with many tasty
sausage sandwiches purchased. Special thanks to Richard and Monty Hyles,
Jason and Danielle Manton, Huw Robb, and Mandy Bourlet.
SASS Recognition Week 2018 This week we have celebrated SASS (School Administrative
and Support Staff) Recognition Week. We acknowledged
the hard work of Kathy and Amanda who work hard to
keep our little school running smoothly.
Open Day On Thursday 6th September we celebrated public education with open
classrooms and a book parade. It was a great morning with fantastic book week
costumes. Unfortunately, the inclement weather hindered the picnic lunch.
Assembly A whole school assembly will be held at 2pm on Wednesday 19th September.
The students will be showcasing their learning over the term.
All parents and friends are warmly invited to attend.
Paddock to Plate Day On Monday 10th September, our school attended Murrumburrah High School’s
Paddock to Plate day. We dressed as farmers and gave coin donations to the
‘Buy a Bale’ appeal. We all had a wonderful day building a den, exploring farm
machinery, having snail races, apple bobbing, learning about different types of
soils and meeting many farm animals. The sun was shining and a great day was
had by all.
Tell Them From Me Parent Survey 2018 Research indicates that partnerships between home and school directly improve
student learning outcomes. From Monday 27th August, parents of students from
Jugiong PS are able to anonymously complete the Tell Them From Me Parent
Survey. This survey is an important tool to help drive ongoing school improve-
ment. A link to the survey will be sent home with your child shortly. No username
or password is required. Community feedback is highly valued by the staff at
Jugiong PS and we strongly encourage all parents to participate in the survey.
Premier’s Spelling Bee Today we have four students (Regan Manton, Bill and Samuel Elphick, and Lucy
Robb) attending the Regional Spelling Bee at Gundagai Public School. We wish
our competitors well and hope they have an enjoyable day.
Arabin Cup This Friday we will be travelling to the Binalong Community Club for the Arabin
Cup t-ball day. It is forecast to be a sunny 21 degrees on the day, so children will
need to take a hat and some sunscreen. A canteen will be available on the day
with each school having an allocated canteen timeslot. All schools need to
arrive by 9.30am for a 10am start. The final round concludes at 1.35pm and will
be followed by presentations.
