Accommodation

• We will be staying at Hotel Pennsylvania

• Students will stay in rooms of 3

• All rooms have private facilities, hairdryer, TV, telephone and air conditioning. 

• Wifi is available through the hotel, though this is chargeable on a per room per night basis

Important documents • It is important that you have an ESTA Visa- this

costs around $14 and isn’t included in the price of the trip as stated in the original letter in December 2014

• You must have a valid passport and it must have 6 months left on your return from New York

• We require:– a photocopy of your child’s passport – your child’s ESTA Visa number (you need to apply

for this)

Payments

• Everyone on the trip should have paid £760 by now

• The final payment of £195 (£955 in total) should be paid on 27th November

• Failure to make the last payment on time could mean that your child loses their place on the trip. (Any issues please see me)

Depart from Tottington High school 12.30pm. Students will need to bring a packed lunch

10am New York Sites and Movies Tour (approx. 2 hours) Our guide will conduct a two hour coach tour of TV & Movie Sites

2pm The Museum at FIT, 7th Ave at 27th Street

4pm J & R Music World & Electronics Store.

7pm Evening Meal at Hard Rock Café, 1501 Broadway

9pm New York Highline

10am Walking tour of Financial District (approx 4 hours)

4pm 9/11 Memorial Site, Albany Street, New York, NY10006

7pm Evening meal at Buca di Beppo, 1540 Broadway, Times Square

10am Sony Wonder Technology Lab, 550 56th St on Madison Ave.

2pm Nintendo world and Rockefeller Centre

Spending Money

• Breakfast and lunch are not included in the price of the trips

• We are suggesting $15 a day for breakfast and $25 for lunch. $160 for four days (approx £105)

• Subway pass is $31 for four days

Insurance

• Travel insurance is with Fogg Travel Services Limited

• We have got full comprehensive cover

• Travel insurance details will be placed on the school website

Travel insurance

• If your child has a medical condition, it is important that we know about it for their safety.

• If you are unsure about any condition, best to let us know!

• Some medical conditions may mean an additional charge re insurance.

Mobile Phones

• You are allowed to bring them but obviously respect others by how you use them.

• Roaming charges- check with your network provider

Behaviour & attitude

• THS standards (Code of Conduct Sheet)

• No illegal substances, including alcohol• • No smoking (anywhere!!)

• Other school groups in hotel

• If you seriously misbehave you may be flown home!!

Final Details – nearer the time

• Given out nearer departure date – Emergency contact numbers – Departure time and arrangements for luggage etc…

Approx time 12. 30 pm (Departure time could change due to flight times)

• Return arrangements for pick up (please be on time!)– (approx 1.30 pm return)

• Parental responsibility to inform Miss Seldon of any change in medical details prior to departure.

• Final meeting with students week before departure to give final details.
