1.INTRODUCTION

What is Network ?

Network is a collection of network devices connected to each other.

What is Networking ?

Information Exchange between Network Devices.

Router

Routers are small physical devices that join multiple networks together

Fast Ethernet Port:-This port is used For LAN connection.

Console Port:-used to access CLI(command line interface)mode of router.

Auxiliary Port:-connects Router to modem

A network switch is a small hardware device that joins multiple computers together within one local area network (LAN).Network switches operate at layer two (Data Link Layer) of the OSI model.Switches, unlike hubs, are capable of inspecting data as messages are received via a method called packet switching.

Media Access Control(MAC)

2.Logical Addressing

a)IPv4(32 bit, Decimal)

b)IPv6(128 bit, Hexadecimal)

3.IP(Internet Protocol)

6.Routing Process

Routing Process is of two Types

1.Static Routing

Set the IP address Manually

2.Dynamic Routing

Automatic IP assign

Ex-DHCP(Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol)

7.Limitations of Wi-Fi Technology

27/09/2014 Hemanta Sahu 10

1.Can’t access inside the Water

2.The strength of signal decreases by walls

3.Can access within a Limited Area

8. Li-Fi Technology

LI-FI is transmission of data through illumination ,ie sending data through a LED light bulb that varies in intensity faster than human eye can followLI FI- LIGHT FIDEALITY

Conclusion

The possibilities are numerous and can be explored further. If this technology can be put into practical use , every bulb can be used something like a Wi-Fi hotspots to transmit wireless data.
